Alberta Band Enter CBC Competition and Need Your Votes

By Contributor

Feb 21
We are Taken By Sanity, a local band from Chestermere and we are reaching out to inquire about placing an advertisement in your upcoming paper. We entered a competition called the 2019 CBC Searchlight and have recently made it into the top 100 with our single ‘Sleepwalker’. This song is one of 11 in Alberta to make it into the top 100 and in order for us to continue moving forward, we need local support!
Public participation is a huge part of this competition and we want to represent the Foothills Music Scene to the best of our abilities with our single. Voting in this round goes from February 20 – February 26 and we need as many people as possible to vote! The public can vote once per day at the following link: www.cbcmusicsearchlight.ca.
Taken By Sanity is a 3 piece band, composed of Jonah Morris (19, vocals, ukulele), Blaine Stillman (21, drums), and Blair Stillman (19, keyboard); based out of Calgary and the surrounding area. The band formed in April of 2016, and have developed as musicians by performing as many live shows as possible. Fresh off their recent release of their new singles, recorded and produced in their basements, Taken By Sanity is a young, high-energy band, committed to putting on a great show!
About Searchlight
Searchlight is CBC Music’s long-running hunt for Canada’s undiscovered musical talent, judged by a combination of audience voting and a panel of celebrity judges, who represent a cross-section of the best that the Canadian music industry has to offer.
Editor’s Note: Band member Jonah Morris’ parents are the Chiropractors that own Diamond Valley Chiropractic. Many long-time patients have seen Jonah and his sister grow up in our community. Many have been fortunate to hear this talented band perform. Let’s get behind them!
