Pamela Joy Dykes-Jones, of Okotoks, Alberta, passed away on November 29, 2018 at the age of 70.
Pam was born in London, England on August 17, 1948. She graduated from Lymm Grammar School, and moved to Canada in 1969.
Pam was married to John Jones on December 3, 1983; they were married 35 years. In 1998 Pam, John and her mother, Joy purchased farmland that has become known as DJ Ranch fulfilling a lifelong dream encompassing family, horses, dogs, summer camps for kids and spectacular mountain views. She was always happiest when surrounded by her family, watching the animals or reading a good book. She was so proud to be actively involved in the Foothills Lions Club.
Pam was self-employed for the majority of her life running businesses in HVAC, Real Estate & Appraisals, as well as a moving company with her husband John. In 2004, she started the Gateway Gazette with her daughter Tanya and its digital transition lead her into the world of Social Media Management.
Pam is survived by her husband John, her children Lee and Tanya, her step-daughters Janet and Lori, her grandchildren Chris (Mae), Justin, Sloan, Solena, and Kristin, many cousins, aunts and uncles in the UK, and other family and friends. Pam is predeceased by her father John and mother Joy.
The Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, December 12th, 2018 at Holy Nativity Anglican Church (12707 Bonaventure Drive S.E. Calgary). The Reverend Jagdutt Singh will be officiating. Cremation and administrative duties by Choice Memorial, Calgary.
There will be an informal reception held in the church after the service. The family has received many offers of help, and as such have decided to go with a potluck style reception. Please feel free to bring a tray of finger food if you would like to.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family are invited to make a donation to a charity of their choosing. The family of Pamela Joy Dykes-Jones wishes to thank everyone for their help, love, and support.
